Managing Performance
It should be easy, but its often never done or, how well someone is doing is only ever talked about when things aren’t going well.Having a way to manage performance is really important for several reasons it:
• helps staff feel valued
• stops problems getting out of hand
• increases peoples commitment to the business
• gets better results from staff
There are many ideas about the best way to do this, we think a simple approach that is easy to understand and make happen is best. The key things to consider are:
• how often will it happen?
• what is really important to measure?
• how will you decide if goals have been reached?
• how will you show staff they’ve done an excellent job?
Successful businesses know the value of spending time doing a formal review with staff.
